Excitement Grows as Girl Scout Cookie Season Approaches

Soon, it will be January, which can only mean one thing: Girl Scout Cookie season is on the horizon. This year’s flavor lineup has sparked quite the emotional response from fans, with changes that have caught some by surprise.

As the countdown to Girl Scout cookie sales begins, many are already preparing their orders with their local troops or online. However, this year’s lineup looks different from what fans may remember. The Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) announced the discontinuation of two long-standing flavors after the 2025 season, marking the end of an era for these beloved treats.

One new addition to the 2026 lineup is Exploremores, a cookie inspired by the flavors of Rocky Road. With a marshmallow-and-toasted-almond crème filling sandwiched between two cocoa cookies, it’s a departure from the classic S’mores flavor that fans have come to love. Alongside Exploremores, fans can also indulge in other favorites like Adventurefuls, Caramel deLites/Samoas, Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-Si-Dos, and Thin Mints, among others.

The removal of Toast-Yays and S’mores has left some fans heartbroken, while others are excited to try the new Exploremores flavor. One fan joked that as long as Thin Mints are still available, they’ll be happy, while another expressed their love for Samoas. The loss of Toast-Yays has left some feeling downhearted, with one fan proclaiming they will never forgive GSUSA for discontinuing the beloved flavor.

While the flavor lineup may have shifted, the process of ordering these iconic cookies remains the same. Girl Scouts will be selling cookies locally between January and April, ensuring that everyone has the chance to indulge in their favorite treats. From setting up tables in public spaces to ordering online, there are plenty of ways to get your hands on these tasty cookies.

As we eagerly await the arrival of Girl Scout Cookie season, one thing is clear: the tradition of indulging in these delicious treats shows no signs of slowing down. So whether you’re a fan of Thin Mints, Samoas, or the new Exploremores flavor, get ready to satisfy your sweet tooth and support a good cause all at the same time.
