Eileen Gu’s Stellar Performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics

The Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina saw the remarkable Eileen Gu adding to her ever-growing collection of medals, drawing praise from fans and celebrities such as Eve Jobs.

Gu, known for her prowess in freestyle skiing, clinched her second silver medal of the Games and took to Instagram to share her joy. In a series of photos posted, one captured Gu proudly holding her latest medal. In her caption, she expressed her gratitude: “Most Olympic medals in freeski history. Thank you Olympics 🤍.”

Among the plethora of responses, Eve Jobs stood out with a single word comment: “unbelievable!!!!!! 😍”

In Milan, Gu initially competed in slopestyle, securing a silver medal just behind Switzerland’s Mathilde Gremaud. Days later, she participated in the big air final, scoring 90.0 on her first run. Unfortunately, a misstep in her second attempt cost her a lower score, pushing her out of medal contention.

With one final run left, Gu needed an almost perfect score to secure a medal. She pulled off a score of 89.0, totaling 179.00 points, falling just short of gold. The top spot went to Canada’s Megan Oldham, who scored 180.75, walking away with the gold and marking Canada’s first Olympic gold in women’s freeski big air.

Despite settling for silver, Gu achieved a significant milestone. With her fifth Olympic medal, Gu now holds the title of the most decorated freestyle skier in Olympic history, boasting two gold and three silver medals.

At just 22 years old, Gu’s achievements are nothing short of remarkable. And there’s still a chance for her to add more medals to her tally as she prepares to compete in the halfpipe event, where she won gold in the 2022 Olympics.

Gu’s performance has not only resonated with sports enthusiasts but has also captured the attention of individuals in the fashion and entertainment industries. From fellow Olympians to public figures like Eve Jobs, admiration for Gu’s talent transcends the slopes.

As the Winter Olympics reach their closing stages, Eileen Gu’s success stands as a testament to her skill and dedication on the snow. Her impact goes beyond the medals, inspiring a new generation of athletes across various spheres.
