The allure of ’70s and ’80s icons Devo continues to entice their fervent fan base. The renowned band, co-founded by Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale, has thrilled fans with the announcement of new dates for their upcoming “Mutate Don’t Stagnate” tour. This tour, blending spring and summer dates, includes a highly-anticipated performance at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California.
In a surprising update to their tour schedule, Devo has added new June dates spanning from Indiana to Connecticut. Of particular note is the band’s show on June 13, 2026, at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino, marking their return to the venue after over 40 years.
Origins and Early Success
Established in 1972 when Mothersbaugh and Casale crossed paths as art students, they were soon joined by their siblings and close friends, including Bob Mothersbaugh, Bob Casale, and drummer Alan Myers, forming the band’s initial lineup. Their breakthrough came in 1980 with the hit single “Whip It,” a timeless party favorite still today. Following mainstream success in the 1980s, the band disbanded in 1991, only to reunite in 1996 and intermittently perform ever since.
Current Lineup and Tour Details
Devo’s current lineup maintains its founding members – Mark Mothersbaugh, Bob Mothersbaugh, and Gerald Casale – with additional instrumentalists and touring drummers completing the ensemble. The upcoming tour includes various dates, kicking off on April 3 in Wheatland, CA, and culminating in shows in London and Manchester, England.
Despite over five decades passing since their inception, Devo’s distinctive sound remains instantly recognizable and intriguing. The band’s enduring popularity speaks to their infectious anthems and distinctive sound, evoking nostalgia for the new wave and ’80s music era.
Tickets for the tour go on sale on various dates, as shared on the band’s Instagram account.
