Daughter’s Alleged Mistreatment of Elderly Mother with Dementia Shocks Florida Community

A shocking case has come to light where a Floridian woman allegedly mistreated her elderly mother who suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The 77-year-old woman was reportedly locked up in her bedroom and left in dirty diapers by her own daughter, who refused to clean her up. The daughter’s cruel actions were revealed when her son discovered his grandmother covered in feces, locked in her room without electricity.

Police reports also mention instances of neglect and abuse reported by the daughter, who witnessed her grandmother being mistreated by her own mother. Text messages provided as evidence showed the grandmother holding feces, with the daughter receiving messages from her mother stating she smelled bad and was going back to bed.

The woman responsible for these heinous acts was taken into custody and questioned about her treatment of her mother. She claimed that her mother’s conditions of dementia and Alzheimer’s made it difficult to care for her properly, but she admitted to being upset and frustrated which led to her neglectful behavior.

Despite denying physical abuse, the woman was charged with neglect of an elderly or disabled adult and battery on a person over 65. She was booked at a correctional center but released awaiting her court date.
