Cruising into the Summer with World Cup Fever

Cruising into the Summer with World Cup Fever

As the warm summer breeze fills the air and the sun glistens on the ocean waves, sports fans face a common dilemma: choosing between a peaceful getaway at sea and the excitement of major international tournaments. The struggle of spotty Wi-Fi, poor quality phone streams, or missing out on historic game moments can cast a shadow on an otherwise relaxing vacation.

But fear not, for Royal Caribbean has set sail on a new adventure to alleviate your sports-induced FOMO. The cruise line has announced a groundbreaking initiative to transform all 29 of its ships into high-energy soccer hubs during the FIFA World Cup season from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This means that for 38 consecutive days, cruisers can catch every match live and uninterrupted, from pitch to ship.

Sport 24, in partnership with Royal Caribbean, is the secret behind this seamless coverage. Using their Special Event Channels, live games will be broadcasted throughout the ship, allowing passengers to catch the action on jumbo screens at the outdoor pool decks, gather with fellow fans in the onboard theaters, or enjoy a burger at the Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.

But the real game-changer for seasoned cruisers is the stateroom access. With the Sport 24 feed integrated into the ship’s stateroom television network, guests can skip the crowds, order room service, and watch the world’s biggest sporting event from the comfort of their own cabin. To amplify the tournament excitement, there will also be a series of soccer-centric onboard games and interactive activities for passengers to enjoy.

Beyond the pool deck, Royal Caribbean has expanded its plans onshore, becoming the Official Miami World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter. Teaming up with the local Miami Host Committee, the cruise line is bringing its hospitality to dry land for a 23-day takeover. The highlight of this on-shore action is the FIFA Fan Festival at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami, where massive outdoor screens will broadcast live matches, complemented by world-class entertainment and local food vendors.

With visits scheduled in half of the official FIFA World Cup host cities, Royal Caribbean is making its presence felt from the streets of Miami to the middle of the ocean. So pack your jersey alongside your swimsuit, because your summer travel plans are officially saved.
