Child Abuse at Florida Day Care: The Shocking Case of Kaitlyn Pitzer

The shocking case of a Florida day care worker, Kaitlyn Pitzer, has caused outrage after she was accused of mistreating an 11-year-old child with disabilities. The incident, which occurred on October 9 at Tender Care PPEC, involved Pitzer allegedly smearing cake icing on the child’s face and applying hand sanitizer to their wounds from a previous incident.

Upon review of surveillance footage, authorities noted Pitzer’s aggressive behavior towards the child, including pushing on their forehead and taunting them with cake. The child’s parents expressed concern over the force used by Pitzer, fearing serious injury due to pre-existing medical conditions.

Pitzer was taken into custody and admitted to her inappropriate behavior, stating that she thought smearing icing on the child was funny at the time. Despite being aware that applying hand sanitizer would cause pain, Pitzer allegedly showed a lack of concern for the child’s well-being.

The vulnerable victim, an 11-year-old with documented medical conditions, was subjected to unnecessary harm at the hands of Pitzer. As a result, Pitzer was arrested and charged with child abuse, with a bond set at $5,000 and held at the Hernando County Detention Center.

In response to the incident, Tender Care PPEC issued a statement on October 14, confirming Pitzer’s termination and banning her from their premises. The facility emphasized full cooperation with law enforcement in addressing the matter and ensuring the safety of all children in their care.

The disturbing case serves as a reminder of the importance of proper care and respect for individuals with disabilities, especially in childcare settings where trust and compassion should be paramount.
