A 28-year-old woman from Cheshire has been jailed for stalking a man she had a one-night stand with after meeting him at a pub. Kirsty White made false accusations against him, threatening him and harassing his family. The man was forced to flee his home due to severe anxiety caused by White’s actions. He described feeling constantly watched and vulnerable, with every aspect of his life affected by the stalking. White was sentenced to 43 weeks in jail after admitting to the stalking incidents that occurred between April and June 2025.
The court heard that White and the man had a one-night stand in December 2024, but the man did not want a relationship. In March 2025, White borrowed money from him and refused to pay it back, leading to further harassment and false accusations. Despite being blocked and told to leave him alone, White continued to contact the man, causing him extreme stress and fear.
White’s lawyer stated that she suffers from significant mental health issues, highlighting the vulnerability of the young woman. In addition to her jail sentence, White was ordered to pay compensation to the man and banned from contacting him for five years under a restraining order.
