Originally released in 1974 on ABC Records, “RUFUSIZED” was a defining moment in the band’s rise to fame. Khan began her career as part of the Chicago soul band Rufus, which included Kevin Murphy on keyboard, Tony Maiden on guitar/vocals, Bobby Watson on bass/vocals, André Fischer on drums, and later David “Hawk” Wolinski on keyboard/vocals, and John “JR” Robinson on drums.

Some of Rufus’s most popular hits include “Tell Me Something Good,” “Sweet Thing,” “Do You Love What You Feel,” and “Ain’t Nobody.”

Celebrating 51 years since the release of “RUFUSIZED,” the social media post highlighted the album’s success, reaching #7 on the Billboard album chart and earning Gold certification. The album also produced one of the group’s enduring hits, “Once You Get Started,” which reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #4 on the R&B chart.
