Celebrating Excellence: AWIEF 2025 Awards Honor Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs in Africa

The Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) has opened the nominations for the 2025 edition of the AWIEF Awards, celebrating outstanding women entrepreneurs in Africa who have made significant contributions to economic growth and development. AWIEF aims to promote and support women’s entrepreneurship and leadership across the continent, closing the gender gap in business.

The awards ceremony will take place on October 31, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa, as part of the AWIEF2025 Conference. The event will honor women in eight categories, including Young Entrepreneur, Tech Entrepreneur, Agri Entrepreneur, Creative Industry, Empowerment, Energy Entrepreneur, Social Entrepreneur, and Lifetime Achievement.

These awards recognise women who are making a difference by breaking barriers, building successful businesses, and creating impactful initiatives across various sectors. Irene Ochem, the Founder and CEO of AWIEF, emphasises the importance of empowering and amplifying the voices of women who are shaping the future of Africa.

To be eligible for nomination, women entrepreneurs must be based in Africa and have demonstrated exceptional vision, leadership, innovation, and business success in their industries. The deadline for nominations is July 17, 2025, at 11:59 CAT.

A nomination can be self-done or on behalf of someone else by visiting the nomination page, completing the form, and submitting before the deadline. All entries will be reviewed by an international panel of judges, and winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony in Cape Town.

The AWIEF Awards highlight the achievements of women who are driving change and making a positive impact on their communities through innovative and sustainable solutions. The event serves as a platform to showcase female entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of Africa’s business landscape.
