Can You Undo on Bumble? Here’s What You Need to Know

Making an accidental swipe on a dating app like Bumble, or sending a message you really wish you could retract, is one of the frustrating parts of the process. Be it a left swipe on someone you were keen on or a DM sent before thought even crossed your mind, we have all been there. So, the pressing question is: Can you undo on Bumble?

Swipes: Can You Retract a Left Swipe?:

Unfortunately, you can’t go back on Bumble after you’ve swiped left on someone — not unless you have a premium subscription. If you have Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium, you can use the Backtrack feature to undo your last swipe. To use Backtrack, tap the arrow in the top left corner of your screen.

If you don’t have a subscription, you’ll be offered subscription options when you tap the Backtrack button.

Messages: What About Undoing a Sent Message?

Similarly, once you hit send on a message, you’ve sent it. Bumble currently doesn’t provide an “unsend” or “delete sent messages” option, so the message is permanent unless the recipient deletes it on their side. But, if you are just in the beginning of the conversation and you noticed that the message that you have sent was too early then, you can still recover from that by sending a follow-up message to explain yourself or even apologize.

Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium: The Downside

If you’re on Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium, you have some benefits that can soothe the sting of accidental swipes and lost connections. The Beeline feature shows you who has already swiped right on you, making it possible to swipe back to profiles of people you may have inadvertently swiped left on.

Try to swipe with purpose, and take the extra seconds you might usually save and read your messages before sending them to avoid that embarrassing moment. And if you do make a mistake? Not to fear, though — there are always ways to make it work and keep the conversation moving.
