British YouTuber Yung Filly has been charged to court, facing accusations of raping and choking a woman in his hotel room in Perth, Australia after a performance.
The 29-year-old, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth the following day.
It is alleged that the rapper and BBC presenter sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s in his hotel room after performing at a venue in Hillarys, a northern coastal suburb of Western Australia, on September 28.
“This investigation is ongoing, and Sex Assault Squad detectives encourage anyone with information related to this matter, or any similar incidents, to contact Crime Stoppers,” stated Western Australia Police.
Filly appeared in Perth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, facing four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault resulting in bodily harm, and one count of restricting a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
According to ABC, the case was adjourned, and he was granted conditional bail, which includes restrictions against contacting his alleged victim or posting about the case on social media to his millions of followers.
Filly hosts BBC shows like Hot Property and Yung Filly’s Celeb Lock-In, and he also participated in Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off in 2022.
He frequently collaborates with fellow YouTube star Chunkz and his Beta Squad collective.
