Brave Girl Rescues Toddler from Well

In a quiet neighborhood in Massachusetts, a heartwarming story unfolded as an 11-year-old girl became a hero by saving a 5-year-old boy who fell into a well. The incident took place in Tyngsboro, where young Jack Buss accidentally tumbled down a 20-foot deep well while playing with his cousins in the front yard.

Thankfully, Jack’s fall was cushioned by a pipe and a rock in the well, preventing any major injuries. Hearing the commotion, Jack’s mother, Kathleen Freeman, rushed to the scene and found her son standing in the water inside the hidden well. Frantic and unsure of what to do, she turned to her young neighbor, Juliana Fischer, for help.

Without hesitation, Juliana sprang into action. She swiftly dialed 911 and handed the phone to Kathleen, taking charge of the situation. Coming up with a rescue plan on the spot, Juliana grabbed a nearby ladder and carefully lowered it into the well. Guided by her quick thinking and bravery, Jack managed to climb up the ladder and escape from the well unharmed.

Jack emerged from the ordeal with only a few scratches, a testament to Juliana’s timely intervention. Recognizing the potential danger posed by the uncovered well, the Tyngsboro Fire Department promptly secured it with a sturdier cover supported by cinder blocks.
