Blake Lively is sending legal subpoenas to Scooter Braun and Hybe America (where Braun is CEO) as part of her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director of It Ends With Us.
Hybe Corp., a big South Korean entertainment company, has a stake in The Agency Group (TAG), a PR firm led by Melissa Nathan.
Nathan started representing Baldoni around the time the film came out in late 2024. Later, Lively sued Baldoni and his company, Wayfarer, claiming they retaliated against her using social media after she spoke up about sexual harassment. Nathan was also named in the lawsuit.
Now, Lively’s team seems to be looking into Nathan’s role more closely by subpoenaing Braun and Hybe. Braun hasn’t commented publicly.
He and Baldoni have been friendly in the past and even spoke on a podcast about the #MeToo movement. However, a source says Braun has never actually seen the movie.
There’s another twist: both Lively and Braun have a history with Taylor Swift—but very different ones.
Swift is a close friend of Lively’s, while she famously clashed with Braun after he bought the rights to her early music in 2019.
Swift has since re-recorded her albums and eventually bought back her masters.
Swift is also loosely connected to the Lively-Baldoni lawsuit. She allowed one of her songs to be used in Lively’s version of the movie and might have had to testify about helping with changes to the film’s opening scene.
In an email, Lively even called Swift and her husband Ryan Reynolds her “dragons,” suggesting they had her back.
This week, a judge threw out Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Lively, Reynolds, Lively’s publicist, and The New York Times.
But he gave Baldoni’s team the chance to revise and resubmit some parts of the case.
Lively’s lawyers called the decision a “total victory,” but Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, says they’re coming back with stronger evidence.
He insists the case is about Lively making false accusations and inventing a smear campaign.
