BBC Breakfast hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay are known for their calm and professional demeanor, but they were caught off-guard during Tuesday’s edition of the show.
Following a piece on Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the camera cut back to the studio to find the duo seemingly unaware they were live.
According to reports by Hello, Jon leaned back on the famous red sofa engrossed in his phone, while Sally accidentally revealed her notes to the camera as she returned to the sofa with a cup of tea.
Presenters typically offer apologies for on-air blunders, but this time the issue was quickly resolved, and they continued presenting as if nothing had happened when the cameras returned.
However, sharp-eyed viewers noticed the slip up, with one person sharing a screenshot of the error on social media, captioning, “Ooopsie!!!”
The show also celebrated Jon Kay’s return after his absence while covering the US Election.
He shared photos from his time in the US, stating, “Broadcasting high above the White House with the world’s media, as the USA heads to the polls,” and reflected on the significance of the day, saying, “The sun sets on US Election Day 2024 in Washington DC. Whoever wins, history will be made.”
This follows another hosting change on Monday, where Jon was notably absent, and Sally co-hosted with Ben Thompson, who stepped in to deliver the latest headlines.
