Aubrey Plaza Breaks Silence After Husband Jeff Baena Dies by Suicide

Aubrey Plaza and the family of her late husband, Jeff Baena, have released a statement following his tragic death.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time,” Plaza, along with Baena’s family, said in a statement.

Baena, a talented writer and director, passed away by suicide at the age of 47 on Friday, January 3.

He had an impressive body of work, including over a dozen directing and film credits.

His notable projects include his directorial debut with the zombie comedy Life After Beth, which starred Plaza, and the anthology series Cinema Toast, which premiered on Showtime in 2021 and featured Plaza’s directorial debut.

The couple began dating in 2011, and fans learned they had married in May 2021 when Plaza referred to Baena as her “darling husband” in an Instagram post.
