Ariel Osbey 20-Year Sentence for Hot Car Death of 1-Year-Old Daughter

A Georgia mother has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the hot car death of her 1-year-old daughter.

Ariel Osbey pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and making a false statement after her daughter, Imani, died from hyperthermia in a sweltering car seat.

Osbey left Imani in the car for five hours while she cleaned a house, only realizing something was wrong when she got back in the car. Despite trying to deceive authorities, evidence revealed the truth, including the high temperature inside the car and Imani’s damp hoodie.
