Anne Hathaway Apologises to Reporter for Awkward 2012 Interview

Anne Hathaway has apologised for a “cringe” 2012 interview with reporter Kjersti Flaa after Flaa shared a clip of their conversation on TikTok.

Flaa, who previously considered quitting journalism after a challenging interview with Blake Lively, revealed that Hathaway’s representative sent her an apology message from the actress the day after the video was posted.

Flaa was surprised that Hathaway had seen the video and appreciated the “long email” she received, in which Hathaway explained her mindset at the time and expressed regret for the interview.

In the original clip, Flaa jokingly asked Hathaway to answer her first question in song, which Hathaway declined. The interview proceeded with Flaa’s questions met by Hathaway’s short answers, prompting Flaa to describe it as not going as planned and inviting her followers to view the full clip on her YouTube channel.

In her TikTok, Flaa expressed gratitude for Hathaway’s apology and shared that she replied to the email, suggesting they sit down for another chat.

Hathaway invited Flaa to interview her for an upcoming film, and Flaa praised Hathaway for taking responsibility and apologising, adding that she holds no hard feelings about the incident.
