Anna Delvey Eliminated From ‘Dancing With the Stars’ After Controversial Run

Anna Delvey, fake German heiress, known by her real name Anna Sorokin, has concluded her journey on Dancing With the Stars.

Her controversial story, detailed in Jessica Pressler’s New York magazine, showcased how she deceived individuals into providing her with substantial sums of money, goods, and services.

This narrative inspired the creation of the Netflix series Inventing Anna, where Julia Garner portrayed Delvey and Shonda Rhimes took on the role of showrunner.

On the latest episode of Dancing With the Stars, Delvey got eliminated alongside Tori Spelling and her partner Pasha Pashkov in a double elimination based on the judges’ scores and viewer votes.

During the show, when asked by Julianne Hough what she’d take from her time on DWTS, Delvey jokingly replied, “Nothing.”

Delvey and her partner Ezra Sosa’s final performance was a quick dance to KT Tunstall’s “Suddenly I See” on the Oscars-themed episode.

After being released from prison in 2021 following a four-year sentence, Delvey was under house arrest while dealing with a deportation case.

She shared that she had obtained permission from U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to participate in DWTS.

Delvey wore an ankle monitor during her time on the show.

However, her participation and the ICE approval she secured to join the competition faced immediate criticism.

The day after her DWTS casting was revealed, The View co-hosts, airing on the same network as DWTS, voiced disapproval over Delvey’s inclusion in the current season.

Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin from The View pointed out that Delvey still had financial obligations, with Griffin mentioning that Delvey “still owes people money”.

Delvey promptly responded on social media, urging the hosts to ensure they had their “facts straight.”

“While you are entitled to your own opinions, you should at least get your facts straight. I served my time and paid everyone back in full 3+ years ago. Looking forward to your on-air correction,” Delvey wrote in a response on The View‘s X page.
