Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer Announce Split

Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer, after months of speculation surrounding their marriage, have officially announced their split. The 44-year-old comedian and her chef husband of seven years took to Instagram on a Friday to confirm the news in a candid post featuring a photo of them riding the New York City subway.

In the post, Schumer and Fischer wrote, “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. Blah blah blah not because I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag a snack and not because he’s a hot James Beard Award–winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”

Friends and Hollywood celebrities, including Linda Evangelista, Leslie Mann, and Emmanuel Acho, quickly showed their support for the couple, who share a son, Gene, 6. The outpouring of heart emojis and messages of love flooded the comment section, with fans expressing their support for Schumer and Fischer during this challenging time.

The relationship between Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer had surprised fans in 2018 when they announced their marriage in a celebrity-packed Malibu wedding. The couple welcomed their son, Gene David Fischer, in 2019, and throughout their marriage, they publicly supported each other.

Sources revealed in November 2025 that the couple was working through normal issues that long-term marriages face and remained committed to the relationship. Despite ongoing speculation and rumors, Schumer addressed the situation in December, emphasizing that her weight loss and other factors were unrelated to the decision to end their marriage.

Despite the public support and well-wishes from fans and celebrities, the couple has not been seen together since the premiere of the documentary, “Room to Move,” in June.

As the news of their split continues to circulate, one thing remains clear – Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer are focused on co-parenting and maintaining a sense of love and respect for each other as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.
