Miss Michigan, Alma Cooper, has been crowned Miss USA 2024!
The annual pageant took place on Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Cooper emerged victorious over Miss Kentucky Connor Perry and Miss Oklahoma Danika Christopherson to claim the prestigious title.
She received her crown from Miss USA 2023 Savannah Gankiewicz, who took over the title in May after the former titleholder’s resignation.
Cooper is set to represent the United States in the upcoming 2024 Miss Universe Pageant scheduled for November.
The newly crowned Miss Teen USA 2024 Addie Carver took the stage just days after the previous winner’s resignation.
This latest development comes on the heels of Miss USA 2023 Voigt, renounced her title in May.
Voigt, a Venezuelan-American beauty queen, cited mental health concerns and alleged a toxic work environment within the organization.
Her eight-page resignation letter sparked a firestorm, with CEO Laylah Rose denying the claims.
Voigt has since remained relatively quiet, but is seeking to break free from her non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to speak out. Meanwhile,
Miss Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava also stepped down, citing mismatched personal values with the organization’s direction.
Following the unexpected resignations, it was revealed that Savannah Gankiewicz had indeed taken on the title of Miss USA 2023.
