Shannon Crisenbery, a data annotator from St. Clair, Michigan, saw her winning streak end after being unable to surpass Williams’ lead in Double Jeopardy, despite a bold bet in Final Jeopardy.
Today’s Final Jeopardy category was “Geographic History.” The clue: “About 10,000 sq. miles, this region was the subject of a 19th c. war, declared independence in 1917, reorganized in 1921 & is under dispute to this day.” The correct response: What is Crimea? Williams wisely wagered $400, ending with $20,000, while Crisenbery doubled her score to $14,800 but fell short of Williams’ total. Unfortunately, Black started at a deficit and couldn’t participate in Final Jeopardy.
