Nearly 15 years ago, Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, along with his wife Nicole Muirbrook, were struggling actors living paycheck-to-paycheck in Los Angeles. Muirbrook recalls those early days as a time of financial hardship and starvation. It was during this challenging period that Sheridan began writing, leading them to the Oscars just two years later, thanks to his breakout screenplays like Sicario and Hell or High Water.
Since then, Sheridan has become known as the king of Westerns, with the couple and their son Gus now residing at Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Texas. The 600-acre ranch embodies their shared love for cowboy culture, and they also own the historic 6666 Ranch, also known as the Four Sixes.
Muirbrook, a former model and actress, now dedicates much of her time to directing operations at Bosque Ranch, focusing on working with horses. Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Muirbrook initially was scouted as a model during her teenage years. Despite her initial reluctance, her mother’s encouragement led her to pursue a career in modeling. She later transitioned to acting, securing roles in TV shows like Dark Blue and How I Met Your Mother before meeting Sheridan.
Now, Muirbrook is heavily involved in ranching and equestrian sports, such as reining and cutting. She also contributes to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame and volunteers her time to charity and elderly care institutions.
Sheridan and Muirbrook first crossed paths in Los Angeles, where she was looking for an acting coach, and he was working as one while also appearing on Sons of Anarchy. Their journey together has seen Sheridan achieve remarkable success in the entertainment industry.
Living together in Weatherford, Texas, the couple has found solace in their new surroundings, particularly enjoying the outdoor activities available to their young son Gus. The scenic location has not only provided a beautiful backdrop for their family life but has also served as a filming location for some of Sheridan’s acclaimed shows.
In recent years, starting a family has added new depth to Sheridan’s perspective, both personally and professionally. As they celebrate milestones like their wedding anniversary and Father’s Day, Muirbrook and Sheridan continue to navigate their shared journey, filled with love, adventure, and meaningful moments together. The family’s story is one of resilience and success, showcasing the beauty of overcoming challenges and building a life together.
