The Lake of the Ozarks is shedding its quiet fishing-dock persona for a more thrilling identity. Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks, a $400 million family resort and entertainment district in Osage Beach, is transforming the area into the Midwest’s top year-round destination. Construction is well underway on this 25-acre project, featuring everything from high-speed roller coasters to a 401-room Marriott hotel.
While initial reports hinted at a quicker completion, the sheer scale of the project has shifted focus to a multi-year rollout. With the recent installation of its first ride, The Plunge, standing tall over the water at 100 feet, the landscape is changing rapidly. Todd Schneider, from SkyView Partners, describes The Plunge as a thrilling centerpiece that perfectly balances adventure with the area’s natural beauty.
The ride is just the beginning of the attractions being developed along the Grand Glaize Bridge. With the carriage offering riders a breathtaking lake view before the sudden drop, this ride will surely captivate visitors. Additional attractions are set to be installed throughout the summer, reshaping the landscape into a new lakeside hotspot.
Scheduled to open in spring 2027, the amusement park, parking garage, and 200 public boat slips will kick off the first phase of the project. Following this, hospitality and wellness elements, including the 401-room Marriott property and Missouri’s largest indoor water park with a retractable glass roof, will be unveiled. This ensures that the Ozarks will remain a top family destination even during the colder months.
Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks represents a significant leap forward in tourism infrastructure, aiming to attract a new wave of visitors to the area. With a focus on safe, high-quality attractions, the project seeks to create a seamless, high-end experience for guests arriving by boat or car. By offering a variety of entertainment options, including roller coasters, dining experiences, and thrilling rides, Osage Beach is set to become a vibrant hub for the region.
In this new chapter of the Lake of the Ozarks, the focus is on adventure and excitement rather than the calm waters. Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks is reshaping the Ozarks into a dynamic destination for thrill-seekers and families alike.
