At Universal Epic Universe, the newest theme park from Universal Orlando, there’s more to obsess over than just the attractions and character meet-and-greets. The food offerings at the park are a must-try, especially if you’ve seen the mouth-watering dishes on theme park TikToks. From unique ube crust pizza to Butterbeer-inspired crepes and gigantic macaroni and cheese cones topped with pulled pork or spicy chicken, the culinary experience at Epic Universe is truly epic.
As a theme park journalist who has traveled the world vetting food offerings, I have developed a discerning palate for what makes a snack truly stand out. While I try to experience all the delicious treats at Epic Universe, there’s one that always takes priority for me: the DK Crush Float.
The DK Crush Float is a loaded treat themed after Donkey Kong, featuring pineapple soda as the base for an ice cream delight. The soda is topped with a waffle cone bowl filled with banana-pineapple soft serve, which has a refreshing fruit flavor. Additional toppings like sprinkles, crispy toffee pieces, and crunchy caramel popcorn add layers of texture and flavor to the float. To enjoy both the soda and the ice cream simultaneously, a straw is inserted through the waffle cone bowl. It’s a treat that must be consumed quickly before the waffle cone begins to break down.
Located at The Bubbly Barrel in Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe, the DK Crush Float costs $19 and comes with a souvenir cup and spoon designed to mimic a barrel from the Donkey Kong video games. However, you can opt to forgo the souvenir cup and pay $13 instead while still receiving the souvenir spoon.
What sets the DK Crush Float apart for me is its delicious combination of flavors and textures, making it a perfect treat for sharing. While there are many decadent offerings throughout the five worlds of Epic Universe, this float is my top choice. Its versatility as a snack that can be enjoyed solo or with others makes it a must-try during your visit.
