Will Patton Returns to the Frontier: The Magnificent Seven Adventure

Will Patton is back in the saddle for a new frontier adventure. The seasoned character actor, known for his role as Garrett Randall on Yellowstone, has signed on for MGM+’s upcoming TV adaptation of The Magnificent Seven, as reported by Deadline.

In this new series, Patton will be starring alongside Matt Dillon, with Tim Kring, creator of Heroes, at the helm. Dillon will be taking on the iconic role of legendary gunslinger Chris Adams, originally portrayed by Yul Brynner in the 1960 film.

Patton’s character in the series is a ruthless land baron named Cyrus T. Clemons, a new addition created for this adaptation. Described as “confident, swaggering, and convinced of his own destiny,” Clemons finds himself in a power struggle as he tries to force a peaceful group of Quakers off their land in the American frontier of the 1880s.

Before this new role, Patton had made a mark in the world of Western dramas with his impactful performance on Yellowstone. Playing Garrett Randall, Jamie Dutton’s troubled biological father, Patton’s portrayal brought a dark and intense energy to the show, culminating in a tragic narrative arc that resonated with audiences.

Patton’s career extends far beyond Western dramas, with roles in blockbuster films like Desperately Seeking Susan, Armageddon, Entrapment, and Gone in 60 Seconds. He has also appeared in Remember the Titans and The Mothman Prophecies, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

On the small screen, Patton has had prominent roles in shows like The Agency and Falling Skies, proving his range in both television and film projects.

MGM+’s upcoming series, The Magnificent Seven, is highly anticipated, but a premiere date has yet to be announced.

With his impressive body of work and compelling performances, Will Patton continues to captivate audiences with his on-screen presence and talent, making him a standout in the world of entertainment.
