The Other Side of the Dream: My Life in and out of Blondie

The upcoming memoir by late Blondie drummer Clem Burke, titled “The Other Side of the Dream: My Life in and out of Blondie,” is set to be released on May 7 in the U.K. and September 8 in the U.S. The announcement of the publication date was made in a joint Instagram post by Blondie and Burke.

Burke, a true force of nature in the world of pop culture and rock & roll, left behind this deeply personal memoir before his passing at the age of 70. The book, available for pre-order, features a foreword by former Saturday Night Live star Fred Armisen and promises to offer a unique insight into Burke’s life both on and off stage.

Kathy Valentine, Burke’s romantic partner and longtime friend, of the Go-Go’s, also shared the news on her official Instagram account, encouraging fans to pre-order the memoir. She expressed her pride in helping bring the book to fruition and highlighted Burke’s enthusiasm for promoting it to fans and readers.

Prior to his death, Burke, alongside Blondie singer Deborah Harry, remained one of the band’s only active original touring members. In addition to his work with Blondie, Burke also collaborated with artists such as the Ramones, Eurythmics, Bob Dylan, Bob Geldof, Iggy Pop, Joan Jett, and more.

With the upcoming release of “The Other Side of the Dream,” readers will have the opportunity to delve into the life and experiences of Clem Burke, offering a unique perspective on the world of music and beyond.
