MSC Cruises Launches Inaugural Alaska Season Aboard MSC Poesia

Are you dreaming of an Alaska cruise but find the price tag a bit out of reach? MSC Cruises is shaking up the game by bringing its inaugural season to the Last Frontier, with MSC Poesia set to arrive in Seattle next month. Starting May 11, 2026, the ship will sail seven-night itineraries from Seattle, visiting iconic destinations like Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, and cruising through the stunning Endicott Arm.

“In one month, we will begin a new chapter that reflects our continued investment in North America and our commitment to offering guests enriching experiences in some of the world’s most iconic destinations,” said Lynn Torrent, President of MSC Cruises North America. The enhancements on board MSC Poesia include added comfort, choice, and flexibility for guests to fully enjoy their time at sea.

MSC Yacht Club, the exclusive “ship-within-a-ship” concept, is a new addition to MSC Poesia. With a 24-hour butler, a private lounge, and a dedicated restaurant, luxury seekers can now experience Alaska in style. The ship also received strategic upgrades such as the Aurea Spa, redesigned for “cold weather treatments”, and new dining options like Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar, perfect for refueling after a day of adventure.

Historically, Alaska cruises have come with a premium price tag due to high demand and a short season. By entering the market, MSC is bringing more competition to the Seattle homeport. This often translates to more competitive fares and promotions like “Kids Sail Free”, making an Alaska cruise more attainable for families or solo travelers looking to explore the Dawes Glacier in the summer of 2026.
