Behemoth Fans Disappointed by Last-Minute India Tour Cancellation

Behemoth, the Polish black metal band, left fans disappointed by cancelling yet another show on their 2026 tour. The ‘90s band had a lineup of major international tours across Australia, Asia, North America, and Europe, but had to announce the cancellation of their tour in India.

In a lengthy Instagram message, Behemoth officially stated that their upcoming show on March 3 in Bangalore, India had to be halted due to safety concerns stemming from threats by “religious Christian groups.” The band expressed deep concern for their safety and security, including the potential for arrest or physical harm.

Additionally, Behemoth clarified that the cancellation of the show in India was due to legal and safety concerns and not the fault of the local promoter. Despite efforts to ensure the band’s safety, they could not obtain sufficient assurances to proceed with the show.

The band also mentioned a similar situation in Turkey, where they were forced to cancel a show in Istanbul due to condemnation from religious groups who viewed their art as “satanic propaganda.” Istanbul Governor Davut Gül stated that such activities that corrupt society would not be permitted in the city.

Despite these setbacks, Behemoth continues their global tour for “Chant Of The Eastern Lands,” covering cities in Australia, Japan, and China. They are also set to embark on a 26-date headlining tour in the U.S. and Canada, as well as shows in Europe and the U.K. from June to October.

Overall, Behemoth’s cancellation of their India tour due to safety concerns highlights the challenges faced by artists navigating religious and societal sensitivities while on the road. The band’s dedication to their fans and commitment to their art is evident, even in the face of adversity.
