Jodie Sweetin to Unleash Raw Comedy Style Inspired by Bob Saget at Upcoming Show

At her upcoming comedy show, ‘Full House’ alum Jodie Sweetin is set to bring a whole new vibe to the stage, channeling the untamed humor of her on-screen dad, Bob Saget. In a recent interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Sweetin made it clear that fans should not expect the wholesome humor of ‘Full House’ in her upcoming performance. Instead, she teased that her comedy style will lean more towards Saget’s raw and sometimes vulgar comedy.

Taking place at San Francisco Sketchfest on Jan. 24, the event dubbed “Smoke Show With Jodie Sweetin” promises to showcase a side of Sweetin that fans have never seen before. Drawing inspiration from Saget’s unfiltered humor, the actress is ready to step into a new comedic territory, leaving behind the squeaky-clean image of her ‘Full House’ character, Stephanie Tanner.

Sweetin credits Saget for introducing her to the world of blue comedy, a stark contrast to the family-friendly jokes prevalent on the ’90s sitcom. The actress reminisced about how she and Saget would always find humor in even the darkest situations, bringing a touch of irreverence to the otherwise wholesome ‘Full House’ set.

Since the end of ‘Full House’ in 1995, Sweetin has ventured into various projects, including starring in ‘Party of Five’ and several TV movies. The cast of ‘Full House,’ including Saget, Candace Cameron Bure, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, and Andrea Barber, reunited in 2016 for the Netflix reboot, ‘Fuller House,’ which aired until 2020.

Tragically, Saget passed away in 2022 due to an accidental fall in an Orlando hotel, leaving a void in the hearts of his former castmates. Despite the loss, the bond among the ‘Full House’ cast remains strong, with Sweetin recently expressing her wish for Saget to attend one of her shows.

In addition to her comedy endeavors, Sweetin co-hosts the podcast “How Rude, Tanneritos” with Barber, who played the quirky neighbor Kimmy Gibbler on ‘Full House.’ A mother of two, Sweetin also showcased her dance skills on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in 2016.

The enduring connection among the ‘Full House’ cast serves as a testament to the lasting impact of the beloved sitcom. As fans remember Saget on the recent anniversary of his passing, Sweetin and her co-stars continue to honor his memory while forging ahead in their respective careers.

The upcoming comedy show featuring Jodie Sweetin promises to be a fresh and unapologetic performance, reflecting the actress’s evolution from child star to comedy maven. With a nod to the irreverent humor of Bob Saget and a touch of authenticity, Sweetin is set to captivate audiences in a whole new light.
