As the musical landscape of 2026 is being shaped by a wave of farewell tours from iconic rock stars like Journey, Bruce Springsteen, and Rod Stewart, another band is adding their name to the list. Angel, a ’70s glam rock band, recently announced the first two dates of their upcoming farewell tour in a Facebook post. The tour will kick off at Wildey Theatre in Edwardsville, Illinois on March 27, followed by a show at Hollywood’s Whisky a Go Go on Aug. 7.
Angel’s current lineup includes original members lead singer Frank DiMino and lead guitarist Edwin “Punky” Meadows, along with rhythm guitarist Danny Farrow, keyboardist Charlie Calv, drummer Billy Orrico, and bassist Tommy Caradonna, according to Ultimate Classic Rock.
Discovered by Gene Simmons of Kiss, Angel was signed to the same label, Casablanca Records. Their original incarnation lasted from 1975 to 1981, with a reunion in 2018 that led to the release of their seventh and eighth albums, ‘Risen’ and ‘Once Upon a Time,’ in 2019 and 2023 respectively.
In an interview with The Edwardsville Intelligencer last year, Frank DiMino reflected on his long career in music, expressing his passion for singing and the importance of continuing to make music. The unexpected reunion of Angel with DiMino and Meadows paved the way for their return to the stage, a decision that felt right for the musicians despite the initial surprise.
As Angel gears up for their farewell tour, it’s clear that their music will continue to resonate with fans old and new. So, as we witness the legendary band take their final bow, we can’t help but appreciate the lasting impact they’ve had on the rock music scene.
