While the holidays may be a distant memory for most, the magic of Christmas lives on at Disney World. In a surprising turn of events, the Hallmark Channel managed to capture the festive spirit in the middle of January for an upcoming holiday movie.
Filming recently took place inside Magic Kingdom, where crews were seen near Cinderella’s Castle and the wishing well, both decked out in holiday decorations. Despite the calendar flipping to January, the production was able to transport viewers back to Christmas with the help of the park’s festive adornments.
The film, titled “Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True,” marks the first collaboration between Hallmark Channel and Walt Disney World. Lead by Lacey Chabert and Travis Van Winkle, the cast includes Richard Kind, Christy Carlson Romano, Bryce Dufee, Taegen Burns, and Asher Alexander, with a cameo from Patrick Renna. The movie was both written and directed by Ryan Landels.
The story follows Lindsey (Chabert) as she embarks on a Christmas trip to Walt Disney World with her extended family. During her visit, she repeatedly encounters Phillip (Van Winkle), a man she had a disastrous first date with in the past. Their interactions throughout the park form the basis of a romantic storyline, culminating in a wish made at Cinderella’s fountain.
Photos shared by BlogMickey capture the cast filming scenes around the park during operating hours, with locations temporarily blocked off for filming. The presence of holiday decorations at Magic Kingdom allowed the production to maintain a Christmas ambiance without waiting until later in the year.
The Hallmark Channel has increasingly embraced destination-based holiday films, with Disney World being a prominent setting for this particular movie. For Walt Disney World, the collaboration offers additional exposure during their extended holiday season.
The premiere date for “Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True” has not yet been announced, but viewers can expect to see it as part of Hallmark Channel’s 2026 Christmas programming block. Stay tuned for a heartwarming holiday story set in the magical world of Disney.
