This anticipation was recently met with joy when it was announced that Gordon, 72, will be releasing her third solo album, “Play Me,” on March 13, 2026, through Matador Records.

In a report by Pitchfork, it was revealed that “Play Me” signifies a fresh burst of creativity for Gordon, who collaborated with producer Justin Raisen on the project. The album is described as more focused and confident, with an emphasis on rhythm and beat-oriented sounds, showcasing a different side of Gordon’s musical prowess.

Fans can expect a departure from Gordon’s usual vocal style on “Play Me,” as she explores new sounds and techniques. The lead single, “Not Today,” accompanied by a visually captivating music video directed by Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, features Gordon in a custom-made tulle dress, adding a unique visual element to the music.

One of the standout tracks on the album, “Busy Bee,” includes a guest appearance by rock legend Dave Grohl, adding an extra layer of excitement for listeners.
