Remembering Lisa Marie: A Mother’s Tribute

Priscilla Presley is remembering her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, on the 3-year anniversary of her passing. Lisa Marie, the only child of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, tragically died on Jan. 12, 2023, at the age of 54 due to a small bowel obstruction. Priscilla took to social media to share a heartfelt message on this somber day.

In a poignant Instagram post shared on Monday, Jan. 12, Priscilla posted a throwback photo of Lisa Marie as a young girl, accompanied by Bread’s “Everything I Own.” The emotional tribute began with Priscilla expressing how she still misses hearing her daughter’s voice every day. She reflected on the unique bond they shared, shaped by love, pain, and the weight of their famous name.

Lisa Marie was just 9 years old when Elvis passed away in 1977 at the age of 42. Her life was marked by highs and lows, including a complex relationship with her mother, as detailed in her posthumous memoir, “From Here to the Great Unknown.” Priscilla’s tribute post emphasized the deep and unbreakable bond they shared, despite the challenges they faced.

The post resonated with thousands of followers on Instagram, including a like from Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter, Riley Keough. Riley, 36, is one of Lisa Marie’s four children, along with 17-year-old twins Harper and Finley, whom she shares with ex-husband Michael Lockwood. Lisa Marie also had a son, Benjamin Keough, with her first husband, Danny Keough, who sadly passed away in July 2020 at the age of 27.

Priscilla’s moving tribute to her late daughter concluded with a simple yet heartfelt message: “Love always, Mom.” The post serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring love between a mother and daughter.
