Fraser Olender Shares Harrowing Vaping Experience: A Wake-Up Call for Health and Wellness

Fraser Olender, star of “Below Deck,” recently shared a harrowing experience that landed him in the emergency room, all due to vaping. In a candid Instagram post on December 5, the 33-year-old chief stew detailed his ordeal with photos of his recovery. Olender was rushed to the hospital a few weeks prior with severe chest pains and breathing difficulties. After spending a week in London hospitals seeing specialists, it was determined that he had suffered from vape poisoning, specifically an E-cigarette or Vaping-Associated Lung Injury (EVALI).

EVALI is a serious condition linked to vaping products that can be life-threatening. Olender’s vaping injury led to a coronary artery vasospasm, where the arteries supplying blood to his heart suddenly constricted, causing an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). This heart attack occurred due to a lack of oxygen during the spasm, rather than a blockage.

The pain Olender endured was described as unbearable, with morphine barely providing relief. The experience served as a wake-up call for him to quit vaping for good. He urged others to do the same, emphasizing the dangers of these products that are not fully understood. Fans flooded the comments section with messages of support and prayers for his recovery.

Olender’s decision to share his story serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with vaping. As the fashion industry continues to evolve, it is important to prioritize health and well-being above passing trends. Love and gratitude for the support shown by fans were expressed by Olender, emphasizing the importance of putting health first.

In a world where trends come and go, one thing remains constant – the importance of taking care of ourselves. Olender’s experience serves as a poignant reminder that our choices today can have a lasting impact on our future. The fashion industry may be ever-changing, but our health should always remain a top priority.
