Onyinyechi Basil, hailing from Anambra State, was recently crowned the winner of Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 in a glamorous event held at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos. Facing tough competition from 22 initial contestants, Basil shone brightly during the competition, showcasing her talent and grace in various segments such as swimwear, traditional costume, evening wear, and the question-and-answer round.
The final five contestants included representatives from Ogun, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, and Bayelsa. Ultimately, Basil emerged victorious, securing the coveted title and the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the upcoming 74th Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok, Thailand.
Damilola Bolarinde, representing Lagos, claimed the first runner-up position, while Fortune Kurobo of Bayelsa and Irene Ikediashi of Ogun secured second and third runner-up spots respectively. Additionally, Idah Eno from Akwa Ibom was crowned Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025, adding to the evening’s excitement and celebration.
In addition to the prestigious title, Basil is set to receive a range of rewards including a cash prize, material gifts, brand endorsements, training opportunities, and paid appearances.
