Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently shared the song that perfectly captures her deep connection to her home state of California.
During the latest episode of her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast with Clevr Blends founder Hannah Mendoza, Meghan discussed their shared California roots and the music that resonates with the state.
While Mendoza revealed she listens to Miley Cyrus’ “Party In the USA” upon landing in Los Angeles, Meghan shared that Joni Mitchell’s “California, I’m coming home” always plays in her head when returning to the Golden State.
She explained that during her time filming “Suits” in Toronto, the song would evoke a strong feeling of being “home.”
Born and raised in California, Meghan now resides in Montecito with Prince Harry and their two children.
She also discussed her early investment in Mendoza’s plant-based latte brand, Clevr Blends, recalling her surprise and immediate desire to support the company after trying their turmeric latte.
Meghan even introduced the brand to her neighbor, Oprah Winfrey, which led to a significant boost in the company’s visibility.
Meghan also touched upon her own new lifestyle brand, As ever, noting the significance of Netflix becoming her business partner and the rapid sell-out of her first product run.
She expressed gratitude for the customer support, which she sees as validation for her entrepreneurial vision.
Meghan also acknowledged the support she has received from her close friends who are also founders.
