Is Olivia Nuzzi Leaving New York Magazine After 8 Years Amid RFK Jr. Affair Scandal?

Olivia Nuzzi is departing from New York Magazine after nearly eight years amid her affair scandal with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“Ms. Nuzzi is gratified though not surprised that two different investigations have determined that her reporting on the 2024 campaign was sound and that she did nothing wrong,” her attorney stated in a Monday announcement shared via X (formerly Twitter) by Hollywood Reporter correspondent Lachlan Cartwright.

“For nearly eight years, she consistently produced critically acclaimed and widely popular journalism in her role as the Washington Correspondent for New York Magazine.”

The statement continued, “She is grateful for the editors, fact checkers, and artists with whom she worked and to the readers who have supported her with their time, subscriptions, and engagement.”

“She looks forward to the next chapter of her career,” the statement concluded.

News emerged on September 20 that Kennedy, 70, was reportedly involved in a “sexting” affair with New York Magazine political reporter Nuzzi, 31.

Nuzzi wrote a profile on the former presidential candidate — who endorsed Donald Trump in August after ending his own campaign — which was published in November 2023. Allegedly, their fling began sometime after that.

Through his representative, the son of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy — who is married to actress Cheryl Hines — denied the romance, stating to The Post that he had only met Nuzzi “once in his life for an interview she requested.”

Following this, Nuzzi was placed on leave while New York Magazine conducted “a more thorough third-party review,” as her relationship with RFK Jr. was deemed a “violation of the magazine standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.”
