Naomi Campbell is now the first supermodel to get her own solo fashion exhibition.
The Victoria and Albert Museum in London on Saturday, featured outfits from her private collection to be showcased.
Around 80 garments in the exhibition are complemented by photos and items from Campbell’s personal archive, highlighting her 40-year career.
The exhibition pays tribute to Campbell’s relationships with renowned designers like Westwood, Gianni Versace, and Alexander McQueen, featuring numerous dresses worn by her on the catwalk, in modeling shoots, or at special events.
They recreated Campbell’s dressing room, complete with Claridges hotel slippers, her favorite Diptyque candle, and a packet of antibacterial wipes.
Another eye-catchy thing in the museum is a mannequin which sprawls on the floor in black velvet and 12-inch platform heels, mimicking Campbell’s famous 1993 fall on Vivienne Westwood’s catwalk.
Her Covid-era airplane outfit – a Burberry cape over a hazmat suit – is proudly displayed alongside an interactive Runway School where visitors receive a pep talk from Campbell before trying out their catwalking skills.
Naomi in Fashion at the Victoria and Albert Museum is running from 22 June to 6 April 2025.
