What is Bella Thorne’s ethnicity?

Born as Annabella Avery Thorne in Pembroke Pines, Florida, on 8 October 1997, the star is now 24 years old.

As the daughter of Tamara Thorne and Delancey Reinaldo “Rey” Thorne, she has three siblings who are also actors.

Bella Thorne’s father was of Cuban descent. Unfortunately he passed away after a motorcycle accident when she was just ten years old, as reported by Blast.

Along with her Cuban roots, the actress also reportedly has Italian, English, German, Irish and Welsh ancestry.

@bellathorne took to Instagram in February 2020 to address the stereotypes and preconceived notions people have about her and her ethnicity:

“Being Cuban/Latin in most people’s eyes means having dark eyes, dark hair and dark skin. I’m naturally blonde. I have hazel-brown eyes and I try not to go in the sun because skin cancer runs in my family.”

The video’s long accompanying caption ended with a proud statement that embraces her culture:

“I LOVE MY CUBAN HERITAGE”

It isn’t the first time Thorne has surprised fans

Ahead of her Latin Grammy Awards attendance, @bellathorne took to social media to hint at her heritage, which sparked considerable social media confusion.

A collection of images were shared by Thorne on Twitter and Instagram, accompanied by a caption stating she possesses defining Latina physical traits:

“I got them Latina hips and thighs.”

Many users responded with humorous captions hinting at surprise and, from some, disbelief.
