Does Christina Aguilera speak Spanish?

The 40-year-old previously revealed she’s faced criticism since she doesn’t look “stereotypically Latina”. She grew up with the language but no longer speaks it fluently.
However, her decision to dive into a Spanish album in 2000 indicates she was eager to learn more about her culture – she is part Irish and Ecuadorean.
Who are her parents?
Aguilera was born in Staten Island, New York City, to mother Shelly Loraine Kearns (née Fidler) and father Fausto Xavier Aguilera.

Her father was a US soldier born in Ecuador, while Fidler has German, Irish, Welsh and Dutch ancestry. The couple divorced when the singer was only six years old.

The Lady Marmalade singer labelled her relationship with her estranged father as “pretty non-existent” and she has previously accused him of being emotionally and physically abusive.
She met her father in 1999 after having no contact with him for 12 years. In 2012, Aguilera told Latina Magazine she was open to the possibility of seeing him again.
