To mark the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month, The Eiffel Tower glows pink every year. This year, the Eiffel Tower was once again lit up with activities marking the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The event is symbolized by pink ribbons that aim to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for cancer research.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month began in October 1985, after the partnership formed by the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division of Imperial Chemical Industries.
The goal of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to give women information about breast cancer and educate them on early detection methods. This would help prevent late detection, and also help women to be more informed about their health.
