50 Cent Surprises Fans at Oklahoma vs. Alabama Game

As the night fell over Oklahoma, fans in the stands were in for more than just a football game. A surprise guest took the stage, none other than rapper 50 Cent, performing his hit “Many Men (Wish Death)” between the third and fourth quarters. With the College Football Playoff on the line, the rapper’s performance aimed to rally the Sooners as they fought to make a comeback against Alabama.

Oklahoma has a history of using 50 Cent’s music to hype up the crowd. Earlier in the season, during a game against Missouri, the team debuted a new hype video featuring the rapper’s track. The video showcased defensive stops and touchdowns, highlighting the Sooners’ strengths and proving that they are a force to be reckoned with.

The tactic seemed to work, if only momentarily. Shortly after 50 Cent’s performance, quarterback John Mateer connected with wide receiver Deion Burks on a 37-yard touchdown pass, narrowing Alabama’s lead to 27-24 and giving the Sooners a glimmer of hope in the playoff.

Red Dirt Media captured the moment, posting on social media, “Things you didn’t expect to see this year: The legendary @50Cent pulled up to Oklahoma-Alabama to perform his hit ‘Many Men,’ the 4th quarter anthem of @OU_Football.”

Despite the excitement in the air, Oklahoma’s hopes were short-lived. Burks’ touchdown turned out to be their only highlight of the night. While the defense managed to come up with a stop, the Sooners couldn’t capitalize on the momentum.

Alabama’s Daniel Hill sealed the win with a 6-yard touchdown run, ending Oklahoma’s comeback attempt at 34-24. Despite the loss, 50 Cent’s appearance added an unexpected twist to the game.

The rapper has been busy with projects, including producing a new docuseries about rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” features exclusive footage leading up to Combs’ arrest in New York City in September 2024. In an interview with ABC News, 50 Cent shared his thoughts on how Combs might react to the documentary.

The night may not have ended as the Sooners had hoped, but for a brief moment, 50 Cent brought a touch of excitement to the game that won’t soon be forgotten.
