In a tragic incident in Oregon, a 28-year-old man, identified as S Mate Joseph, is accused of stabbing his former partner, 24-year-old Neilyann Ysam, to death. What makes this heartbreaking story even more devastating is that their 4-year-old daughter was the one who called 911, reporting the horrific crime by saying, “My dad killed my mom.”
The incident took place on July 19, at a residence in Southeast 143rd Court in Portland. When police arrived at the scene after receiving a stabbing report, they found Ysam had been fatally stabbed and pronounced deceased. While Ysam’s five children were present during the incident, thankfully, they were unharmed.
The suspect, Joseph, fled the scene but was later apprehended in Vancouver, Washington, and charged with first-degree murder and second-degree domestic violence. Court documents revealed a harrowing scene, with Ysam’s young daughter being the one to call for help.
Ysam and her children had reportedly escaped from Joseph’s abusive clutches, with previous incidents of violence documented, including an assault on Ysam while she was pregnant in 2019. Joseph’s lawyers entered a not guilty plea in court, denying the charges against him.
