Top 9 Contestants Shine on Disney Night of American Idol

The latest episode of “American Idol” brought the magic of Disney Night to life as the Top 9 contestants took the stage to perform iconic Disney songs. With the enchantment of Disneyland Resort in the air, America voted live to determine which seven contestants would move closer to achieving their dream of becoming the next American Idol.

Mentored by award-winning music superstar and former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson, the contestants received feedback from guest judges as they performed songs from popular Disney movies like Descendants and Toy Story. Special appearances from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge added an extra touch of enchantment to the evening.

The Top 9 also came together for a group performance of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story before facing critiques from judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie.

In a notable change, the American Idol app for voting was replaced by social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. However, text and online voting options remained available for viewers.

The night concluded with eliminations, with Kyndal Inskeep and Lucas Leon bidding farewell to the competition. The remaining contestants who secured a spot in the Top 7 included Braden Rumfelt, Brooks, Chris Tungseth, Daniel Stallworth, Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough, and Keyla Richardson.

Each contestant brought their own flair to classic Disney songs, with standout performances including Daniel Stallworth’s rendition of “A Whole New World” from Aladdin and Hannah Harper’s soulful take on “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog.

The judges offered praise and constructive criticism, highlighting the growth and talent of the contestants throughout the night. From Brooks’ heartfelt performance of “The Climb” to Jordan McCullough’s powerful rendition of “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas, the Top 7 showcased their versatility and vocal prowess.

As the competition heats up, viewers can tune in to American Idol on Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu. Stay tuned to see who will ultimately be crowned the next American Idol!
