Tom Dumont Opens Up About Parkinson’s Diagnosis Before No Doubt’s Las Vegas Residency

Tom Dumont, renowned guitarist of No Doubt, bravely opened up about his Parkinson’s diagnosis just before the band’s highly anticipated Las Vegas Sphere residency. During an interview with ABC’s Nightline, Dumont shared, “I felt like as these shows got announced, I started thinking, ‘I think I just need to just let people know about it.’ I think it just makes it easier on me actually, if people know, it’s something I don’t have to hold inside or keep a secret.” The support he has received from family, friends, fans, and his bandmates has been overwhelming.

In April, Dumont revealed his health update, mentioning that he has been “doing great for a number of years.” In a recent Instagram post, he shared about his journey with Parkinson’s and how he has been coping with it. Despite the challenges he faces every day, Dumont expressed gratitude for still being able to play music and guitar, stating “I’ve been doing really well.”

No Doubt, consisting of lead singer Gwen Stefani, bassist Tony Kanal, and drummer Adrian Young, embarked on their residency at The Sphere on May 6. Kanal revealed in an ABC interview that they had been preparing for this moment for eight months, with sessions in Young’s basement leading up to their performances. Young humorously mentioned that they are almost playing as well as they used to, reflecting on their journey as a band.

Celebrating 30 years since their ‘Tragic Kingdom’ album, No Doubt’s residency has been extended to 18 dates through June. Young emphasized the importance of the band throughout their career, highlighting how their dedication to music has remained steadfast even in challenging times. As they continue to captivate audiences with their music, No Doubt’s legacy as a pioneering rock band remains strong.
