Taylor Swift has donated millions to Florida’s hurricane relief efforts as the state recovers from Hurricane Helene and braces for Hurricane Milton.
Feeding America, a nonprofit focused on fighting hunger, expressed their gratitude for Swift’s $5 million donation, noting that it will aid in rebuilding communities, provide essential food, clean water, and supplies to those impacted by both storms.
Swift made her contribution quietly, without sharing on social media.
In their statement, Feeding America thanked Swift for joining the fight to end hunger and supporting communities in need.
The 34-year-old singer, who recently became the world’s richest female musician, is set to resume her Eras Tour next week with shows scheduled in Miami from October 18-20 at Hard Rock Stadium. There have been no announcements regarding potential postponements of these concerts, her first in the U.S. since returning from her European tour.
Florida holds a special place for Swift, who has even written a song, Florida!!!, as a tribute to the state.
Hurricane Milton, now classified as a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of around 130 mph, is expected to have severe impacts on areas such as Tampa and Sarasota on Florida’s western coast, while Hurricane Helene has already left significant damage and claimed over 230 lives.
Swift’s generosity is part of her longstanding commitment to philanthropy. Earlier this year, she donated $100,000 to a family affected by a tragic shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade and, in December 2023, contributed $1 million to support disaster relief in Tennessee.
