Ned Fulmer of former Try Guys fame recently shared a deeply personal revelation in a tearful video, where he opened up about his decade-long battle with multiple sclerosis (MS). In collaboration with MS Walks, Fulmer, 38, disclosed his MS diagnosis dating back to 2013.
The emotional video, posted on YouTube on Nov. 23, showed Fulmer committing to donate $1,000 to the National MS Society for every 10 miles he walked. At the 3-minute mark, Fulmer bravely disclosed his diagnosis, stating, “It’s relapsing remitting MS. And it’s been something that I have been afraid to talk about and wanted to keep a secret, but I’m trying to be more open about myself and hopefully my story can help other people.”
Fulmer recounted the onset of his symptoms, starting with a tingling sensation in his hands that eventually spread to other parts of his body. A frightening episode where he couldn’t move his legs led to a diagnosis confirmed by MRI findings of brain lesions. The video poignantly captured Fulmer’s struggle and fear of potential paralysis, coupled with the relief of regaining mobility after treatment.
Despite ongoing sensory issues, Fulmer expressed gratitude for being in remission and for the opportunity to bring awareness to MS through his fundraising efforts. By walking a total of 26.2 miles in the video, the distance of a full marathon, Fulmer showcased resilience and strength in the face of adversity.
As the video concluded, viewers were left with a profound sense of admiration for Fulmer’s courage in sharing his journey with MS. Through his vulnerability and determination, Fulmer’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of openness and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
