Michelle Stafford of Y&R Pays Tribute to Her Sister, Who Overcame Cancer

Michelle Stafford portrays Phyllis Summers on The Young and the Restless. She first played the character in 1994 and returned to the show in June 2019.

Continue reading to see Stafford’s touching tribute to her sister as she celebrates nine years cancer-free.

She began by calling her sister, Janine, a “SURVIVOR,” whom she tagged on Instagram. Stafford then informed Janine that she had been cancer-free for nine years. She went on to say to all cancer survivors, “I would like to give all of you warrior survivors the highest praise for all you went through,” she wrote.

She continued to convey all of her “love and accolades” to cancer survivors before revealing that the disease had afflicted many of her friends and family members. “I have other survivors in my family as well (who don’t want to be identified, but) they are aware.” She went on to say that she has “friends who recently lost their heroic struggle.” They’re just as brave as the rest of us.”

“God bless you all for having to fight this struggle,” Michelle concluded her poignant post. She then invited her fans to share their own personal stories with her. As a result, her admirers found a haven of support and camaraderie in the comments area.
