Two days ago, Lady Zamar, one of South Africa’s biggesr singer-songwriter shared her experience with gender based violence, via social media. She mentioned that it was at the hands of her previous partner. Though she did not mention names, speculations have arisen that she may be referring to hip hop artiste Sjava.
Lady Zamar and Sjava were in a relationship which the both of them kept out of public eye, but the relationship ended when Lady Zamar found out about Sjava’s marital status.
She wrote in a thread on Twitter, about how she was abused and struggled to come to terms with the fact that it happened to her. She also added that she wasn’t asking anyone to believe her, as she needed to share her truth and put an end to all the “articles, speculation and articles that don’t concern her”.
“N*gga swears up and down he is not married,” she added.
Just this past weekend, Sjava paid homage to both his mother and grandmother while sharing a tribute for victims of gender-based violence at his live show, “One Night with Sjava”.
