It’s been quite some time since Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto) of the FBI faced intense challenges. But in the Season 8 midseason finale, he was put to the test in a way that made even him freak out.
In a tense two-parter, the agents of the FBI’s New York field office unraveled a plot by a terrorist group aiming to reset the world through mass casualties. They orchestrated building explosions, disrupted phone and internet networks, and urged the city to evacuate through tunnels in preparation for a deadly gas attack.
Amidst the chaos, Jubal’s son Tyler (Caleb Reese Paul) was visiting, and found himself caught in the crossfire. Jubal, against Isobel’s (Alana de la Garza) instructions to stay with his injured son, took matters into his own hands, tracking down a suspect in a plastic surgeon’s office.
Despite going rogue, Jubal was reined in by his colleagues Maggie (Missy Peregrym) and OA (Zeeko Zaki) before things went too far. Ultimately, he found a way to save the city and his son, bringing the episode to a close with a sense of relief.
As we await the show’s return, Sisto reflects on Jubal’s emotional journey and the challenges of filming such intense scenes in New York City.
The intense cases this season have brought a level of impact and danger that have kept viewers on the edge of their seats. The portrayal of these high-stake situations is a testament to the real-life work of the FBI in preventing and solving crimes.
FBI returns to CBS on Feb. 23, 2026, promising more riveting episodes and nail-biting drama for fans to enjoy.
